Slaves willed to Philemon Neal by his father, Joseph Warren Neal, and transferred to him in 1863 in Rockingham County, North Carolina.

Note: Philemon Neal was born in 1840 in Rockingham County, North Carolina. He died about 1910 in Spray, Rockingham County, North Carolina.  Philemon served in the Confederate Army as a 1st Lieutenant on Company H, 45th North Carolina Infantry.
